2013 - MIXED MEDIA ON PAPER

Art, as a sensitive force inherent in the individual, expresses the personal states of the artist at the time of creating the work. The artist, specifically the painter, needs the knowledge of the craft and, at the same time, the concept that allows him to create the work. Without the knowledge of the craft, that's the technique, there is no possibility of creating, although there may be an idea supported by a concept.

Many times the ideas that the artist have developed are subject to the empirical and technical knowledge that he has been able to achieve, not only during periods of training, but also of the practice to which he has previously devoted himself.

It is necessary, and this is what Rodríguez-Amat did in the creation of this series of paintings, to free himself from the aesthetic values that he has been able to achieve previously. He created this series of works under the absolute concept of freedom.

It is clear that at all times there are forms or images that dominate this series of works, without which the work could not be created.

When we talk about mixed media it means that we do not use one of the traditional painting techniques and that we use mixing different types of pictorial material. These works have been created with tempera paints, acrylics, Chinese ink and varnishes, among others.
