DRAWINGS

Although painting has been the basic tool that allowed Rodríguez-Amat following his artistic trajectory, drawing delimited his artistic space and at the same time was the base of the structure of his work.

Sometimes drawings haven even taken a great protagonism in his work. The Woman-Bull Drawings a series of more than a hundred drawings Iis absolutely independent of the content of his pictorial work.

A great quantity of drawings on the human figure and in particular the feminine body was during the school years of Rodríguez-Amat the base of many of the works that allowed him to acquire a good knowledge of his job as a painter. In the old Fine Arts School in Barcelona drawing was, at one time in which the artist's formation was based on academic characters, one of the fundamental pillars of the formation of young artists.

Between the month of September of 1962 and the month of May of 1963, Rodríguez-Amat carried out hundreds of drawings on paper of small format. They were notes made of a single line with the purpose of representing the model's movement. It was during the first five months of 1963 that the drawings were carried out on paper of greater format.

It was necessary, evidently, a deep knowledge of human figure to be able to capture and, at the same time, to represent these figures to natural size. Charcoal was the technique used in all these drawings.

The model moved so that after a certain time she repeated the same position.
