KÜNSTLERISCHE AUSSAGE UND ARBEITSWEISE
Der Mensch steht im Mittelpunkt meiner Bilder und Skulpturen. Es sind gesellschaftliche Phänomene, die mich interessieren und inspirieren. Meinen Hang zu mystischer Poesie bringe ich durch die Intensität der Farben in Widerstreit, um mein Staunen über das Leben zu beschreiben. Meine Plastiken sind aus Terrakotta hohl modelliert. Viele sind über 1240 Grad gebrannt, somit frostsicher und ganzjährig für den Außenbereich geeignet.
MEIN ARBEITSSTIL Vielfältig in Motivwahl, Arbeitsweise und Material zu arbeiten bedeutet für mich Freiraum und Weiterentwicklung. Es vergrößert das Wahrnehmungsspektrum und verschafft die nötige Luft, kreative zu arbeiten. Ich halte ein elementares Gleichgewicht und eine ästhetische Harmonie für einen absoluten Wert des menschlichen Geistes. Kunst soll berühren. Ob sie trivial, primitiv oder niveauvoll ist, entscheidet letztlich jeder für sich selbst. Das Klischee, dass man permanent von der „Muse“ geküsst wird und einem die Dinge in den Schoß fallen, hat mit meiner Realität wenig zu tun. Es ist vielmehr hartnäckige Disziplin an spielerischer Arbeit, Ausdauer, Geduld und Leidenschaft, die mich antreiben, bis ich letztendlich zufrieden bin. |
ARTISTIC STATEMENT AND WORK METHODS
The focal point of my sculptural and painting work is the human form. It is social phenomena, that interest and inspire me.I like to express my attraction to mystical poetry through the intensity of contradicting colors.
My pottery works are out of terracotta. Many are set on fire at temperatures above 1240°. The result is a frost proof product, capable of withstanding the winter outdoors.
MY STYLE OF WORK For me, diversity in material, practice and representation means scope and expansion of one’s consciousness and development. It gives me that breathing space, which is essential for my work. I believe that elemental balance and aesthetic harmony are strong assets of the human spirit. Art is there to make an impression. Whether trivial and primitive, or profound and lasting, is up to the observer to decide. The cliché that art just comes into being, or that one picks ideas from the sky has, for me, little to do with reality. It is more discipline, endurance, patience, and passion on a playful work, that keep me going, until I am finally satisfied. |

1974-1978 handwerkliche Ausbildung zur Zahntechnikerin, bis 1985 im Beruf tätig.
1970-1998 begleitende Förderung durch Rita Gross (Bildhauerin).
Seit 1985 tätig im Bereich Bildhauerei und Ausdrucksmalerei.
