In all his creative endeavors, Mark sees poetry. He considers his paintings visual poems, and his novels long poems as well. In every thing he produces, he seeks to unearth its essence, to let it find its own form and be true to itself. Sometimes he combines art forms, as he did when producing and directing a poetry video entitled He Was a Poet and When He Died, which has been shown at various venues, including a couple in India. Recently he read from his poetry collection against a backdrop of video he created and music composed by his friend Alphonse Izzo, a noteworthy American composer. This endeavor, called simply Ten Poems, will soon be available on YouTube.
