SEAGULLS. 1983

Drawings made by Jordi Rodríguez-Amat on July 14, at Folkstone beach

On the 14th of July 1983 I was on the beach at Folkstone in the south of England and there were a lot of seagulls flying around me. I took paper and ink that I always carry with me and in a relatively short time, no more than two hours, I captured on paper the sensations perceived by the flight of seagulls. The work process was very fast with hand movements. At no time did I want to make a figurative representation of the seagulls, but to capture the essence of their shapes and their flights.

All papers are the same size: 17cm x 24.5cm. I have titled this little series in English: Seagulls.
