ARTISTS AND CREATORS RESIDENCY AT THE HOUSE-WORKSHOP

OF THE RODRÍGUEZ-AMAT ART CENTER

Since 1995, 624 creators, artists, painters, photographers, writers, etc. have been able to reside and work at the house-workshop of the Rodríguez-Amat Art Center. Some have spent two or three weeks, others one or two months. They are creators from around the world: Australia, Japan, Finland, Sweden, United States, France, Germany, Mexico, Latvia, South Africa, Canada, Taiwan, Romania, Argentina, Russia, New Zealand, Haiti, Switzerland, Lithuania, Venezuela, Guatemala, Uruguay, the Netherlands, Italy and, of course, Spain and Catalonia, among other countries.

Men and women, young and old, of all colors and of all races, from all four corners of the world, have resided in the Art Center and have been able to work in the workshops engaging in their creative activities. When they have to leave the center, once at the Camallera trains-station, or in front of the same door of the house, when the moment of goodbye time has come, you see how their eyes turn into joy, love and , at the same time, into sadness because of having to go. How many times Jordi Rodríguez-Amat has heard two wonderful words, two words that fulfill his heart with joy: Thank you Jordi. Among many other examples, Julia, an American artist of indefinite age who could be well past her seventies and who had been living during almost three months there, many days before the farewell, was repeating the words: it will be hard to leave, it will be hard to leave ...

First aid kit located in the workshop of the Art Center.

This first-aid kit is written with the name “First-aid kit“ in the languages of the countries of the artists who resided at the foundation over the years.

When an artist from a country where no creator had yet come, he is asked to write the name of the first-aid kit in his own language.
